Update 10/20/13 – 1 On Tripp Halstead

Stacy: Very happy to report that Tripp had a great night and great morning. It has been such a busy week. With Tripp’s normal therapies, first massage appt, his two parties, and we had our CO visit our Kingdom Hall this week. (A visiting speaker that travels and gives very encouraging talks) so we went to the hall Tuesday, Thursday and Today to hear him. And then tomorrow we have therapy then driving down to Atlanta and spending the night. Mom is going with us. Tripp has to be at the hospital by 6am and none of us want to fight Atlanta traffic and risk being late. His surgery is scheduled to begin at 7:30. They are going to go into his brain and poke a hole through the scar tissue that is blocking the fluid from getting to his shunt. He has a puddle of fluid in his head, so we are praying that after the surgery the pressure will be gone and he will feel better. While they have him under, they are also going to inject Botox and phenol into his legs and feet to help them bend. Then on the 28th (I think) he will be casted. This time with casts that can’t come off and on. I know he will hate them but we have to try to get those legs to bend or he will never be able to really sit up and def never walk. And we truly with all our hearts hope that he will one day. If all goes perfect, we check in Tuesday and check out Wednesday. But I am packing a bag for all week. Just never know with Tripp. So please say a little extra prayer that his surgery goes great and he starts feeling better and making more progress. Thank you for all your support and encouragement. Love you all.
