Windshield Washer Fluid

This article tells how to make “entirely safe” windshield washer fluid. Hope you too find it helpful.

HOMEMADE WINDSHIELD WASHER

Regular washer fluid has harmful fumes and chemicals that come into your car when it’s sprayed try this natural alternative instead. You can make it “heavy duty” by increasing the soap and/or vinegar and you can make it freeze-proof by adding rubbing alcohol!

What you need:
Clean 1 gallon jug
1 tablespoon dish soap
1/2 cup vinegar

Combine soap and vinegar in the jug, fill with water, and mix. That’s all there is to it!

    SO SIMPLE!!!!</p>
<p>How to Cook Corn Perfectly </p>
<p>Don't ya'll hate peeling the husks off and all those silky strings? Well, no more!</p>
<p>Instructions:</p>
<p>1. Remove a few of the outer husks that might be dirty.</p>
<p>2. Cut the bottoms off of the corn. Be sure to cut above the part of the cob where the husk is attached. It would be above the part of the cob where it starts to round down.</p>
<p>3. Place a moist paper towel on the bottom of the microwave or on top of the carousel and place the corn on the paper towel.</p>
<p>4. Use this guide for your cook time. Remember the cooking time can vary for each microwave.</p>
<p>1 ear - 2 minutes<br />
2 ears - 3 to 4 minutes<br />
3 ears - 5 to 6 minutes<br />
4 ears - 7 to 8 minutes<br />
6 ears - 8 to 9 minutes</p>
<p>5. After cooking, let the corn sit about 3 minutes. It will continue to cook and will be cooler and easier to handle.</p>
<p>6. Pick the cooked corn up by the top (you might want to use an oven mitt if it is too hot to handle) and squeeze and lightly shake out the ear of corn. It should just slide out leaving the silk and all of the husks intact.</p>

Here is another nifty “Make your own….” In this case, it is baby wipes.
    Amanda Bonnesen
Make sure ya'll SHARE this! Even if you don't have a baby, help your friends with little ones save money! <3 <3 <3</p>
<p>HOMEMADE BABY WIPES</p>
<p>Supplies:- Tall, round 3 Quart container with a lid<br />
- Better quality paper towels (the cheap paper towels don't work well on a dirty bottom)<br />
- Knife to cut the paper towel roll in two<br />
- Baby shampoo<br />
- Baby oil</p>
<p>Directions:<br />
1. Cut a paper towel roll in half so you have two short rolls.</p>
<p>2. Set one roll inside the canister. Set the other half aside for next time.</p>
<p>3. Combine and stir together:<br />
1 1/2 cup hot tap water<br />
2 Tablespoon baby shampoo<br />
2 Tablespoon baby oil</p>
<p>4. Pour the liquid mixture over the top of the paper towel roll. As the liquid soaks through, the moisture will loosen the cardboard center making it easy to pull out. If you get lucky, it will bring with it the end of the paper towel roll. If not, carefully pull on the wipes in the center to get the sequence going.</p>
<p>5. Pull out the amount of paper towels (from the center) that are needed. Reseal after each use.</p>
<p>6. If the wipes are not wet enough or the lid doesn't get put back on, just add more water. If the wipes are too moist, leave the lid off for a little while.</p>
<p>**If you are out of the diaper stage, these work great for cleaning up messy hands and faces when you are on the go. You can also use this mixture to re-wet purchased baby wipes!</p>

Different Kind Of Easter Egg Dye

Here is a copy of a suggestion that I found on facebook. It seems like a really neat idea, and that it would be a lot of fun too. It sure would smell good.

Margaret Quiggle Driver shared Parents Support Page‘s photo.
A Little Easter tip for all my lovely Parents out there, {Christy}</p>
<p>Here is another great idea to Easter. Instead of buying those dying kits, use koolaid. One pack of Koolaid and 2/3 cups water and you've got awesome egg dye. Two bonuses is, it's cheaper than those boxes of egg dye and it smells so yummy! :) Side note, if you use the lemonade flavor, mix it with a little bit of orange cause the lemonade doesn't dye too good.</p>

Emergency Pull Cords In Apartments

EMERGENCY  PULL  CORDS  IN  APARTMENTS

If you are a senior citizen like myself, and you are lucky enough to have emergency pull cords anywhere in your apartment, then I know you need and want to be able to reach them.  In my apartment there are pull cords in the bedroom and in the bathroom.  There was only one problem with both of them.  They weren’t long enough to reach where I needed them to reach.  In my bedroom, the cord is by the closet, on the same wall as the closet door.  The doors are accordion doors that fold out.  In other words, no space to put the bed by the closet due to the doors.  I had to think of some way to be able to reach the cord if need be while I was in the bed.  Then two things came to me that I could do.  The first was to lengthen the cord by putting more string on it, to make it long enough to reach the bed. Second problem was how to get it to stay by the bed and not just hang by the closet door as it was doing.  The second idea was to tie an empty medicine bottle to the end of the string. and then safety pin it to the bed linens so that the cord was in the safety pin like when a needle is threaded and the thread goes through the eye of the needle. That way, no mater where the bottle went, it could not slip through the safety pin, and I would be able to pull the cord. Bedroom pull cord situation taken care of.  Now for the bathroom pull cord.  It is located on the wall by the toilet, and not long enough to reach the tub.  Once again, I added some string, so that it was long enough to more than reach the tub.  As I have to use a tub seat that starts on the outside of the tub, and I slide across it to get into the tub, I have two handy little slots where things can be put, such as a body brush.  Perfect place to catch a bell or, once again a medicine bottle.  Needless to say I put a medicine bottle on the end of that cord also.  For those of you that don’t need a tub seat, but do have a pull cord, you can do the same things I did, except for where to have the cord stay while in the tub.  Well, with the medicine bottle tied to the end of an extended cord, it can be hung around the faucet handle where it will be handy to grab if the need arises.  I hope these suggestions help out at least a few people.  Be safe now.

Hodge Podge Of Helpful Information

HODGE  PODGE  OF  HELPFUL  INFORMATION

This post will contain several different tips on useful things. I will include the URL to get to the pictures that have these tips with them.  I saw these somewhere on the internet, but I don’t know what the name of the person is that compiled these picture to be able to write the name.In other words, I am not the one that came up with any of these tips.

The URL is:       https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B7-prV-RgSoEWS0zZWhWcDctMVE

The ideas are pretty neat. Here I go telling you them. There are nine of them.

1.   Ant Problem?     Ants hate cucumbers. Keep the skin of cucumbers near

or put it near where they are getting into the house.

2.   Pure Ice?     To get clear ice, first boil the water before freezing.

3.   Perfect Mirror Shine?     Clean it with alcohol.

4.   Remove Chewing Gum From Clothes?     Keep the cloth in the freezer for an hour.

5.   Whiten White Clothes?     Soak the white cloth in Hot water with a slice of lemon for 10

                                                minutes.

6.   Make Your Hair Shine?     Add 1 teaspoon of vinegar to hair, then wash hair.

7.   Cut Onions With No Manly Tears?     Chew gum.

8.   Remove Ink From Clothes?     Put toothpaste on the ink spot generously.  Let it dry

                                                      completely, then wash.

9.   Get Rid Of Mice And Rats?     Sprinkle black pepper in places where you find mice or

                                                      They will run away.

I hope a few of these will help some of you that might be needing them. I have not used any of them myself yet, but when I do, I will let you know.
